Cricket Player of the Season

The story so far!

As we reach September it is safe to say that Quinny will not be this seasons POTS due a prolonged spell of incapacity but all the other candidates share the same air of averageness! Satnav has not really lived up to his early season exploits probably due to being put behind the stumps, which is not his natural habitat.

Evo's season resembles the foothills of the Alps but with more deep lying valleys than towering peaks. Dan has had too many distractions, and Birthdays, to do himself justice whilst the El Jamio Ward has contrived too many new ways of getting out to be in contention.

Probably the choice will be between Captain Duffy and Sick Note #2 Wendy but next week will probably be decisive in who is to be 2010 POTS.

BIG MONEY IS BEING TAKEN BY THE BOOKIES ON WHO WILL BE CBCC POTS - MY MONEY IS ON TOM TOM TO SCORE 1500 RUNS & TAKE 50+ WICKETS FOR THE ONES WITH LESLEY TAKING 80 WICKETS FOR THE TWOS!!!

New contenders are showing their skills to good effect, Chappo & Wendy excelling for the 1s & sick-note continuing his good 2s form whilst Jack is contributing with bat & ball for the 3s. Keep up the pressure lads!

Sat-Nav is still leading the field with his April exploits being continued into the merry, merry (wet) month of May. How long will this continue we all would like to know? The very consistent performances of King Half a Ton were untroubled by the cold and damp we again experience in May.

Look for Stevie Waughs ongoing improvements that will ensure a prolonged look at. There are some late starters that still could enter the race.....Keep watching this space!

With the pre-season favourite Wendy still shopping and Quinny suffering the after-effects of Aussiewingeflu there was an opportunity for lesser mortals to make the running for POTY. Tom-Tom has had a couple of good efforts with the bat but could have impressed even more but for an iffy LBW. Tom-Tom

Outsider Sedge showed that with the right fodder and a good surface he might surprise a few people.

Confirming his promotion from the threes was justified Spanish Jimbo scored a fluent 88 which should have been 150+. Another one to keep an eye on but with his grasp of finances being as poor as Gordon Brown’s he might run out of steam. Talking about absolute Bankers Quiz King Fred had a man of the match performance with 50 & 5 wickets.

Under the watchful eye of Muneer Zaf is steadily taking wickets, catches and making runs and could be in contention all season long.
